On the afternoon of October 20, at the headquarters of the Government, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met Ms. Kate Brown, Governor of Oregon, USA, who has working visit in Vietnam.
Welcome the visit and the results of the Governor’s work with leaders of some ministries and agencies of Vietnam, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that the results achieved during the visit of the delegation will contribute positively to the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Oregon in particular and between Vietnam and the US in general.
Expressing his joy about Vietnam - the US relations that is developing well and quickly in many fields, especially in economy, trade, investment, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam attaches great importance and wants both sides together in development and comprehensive bilateral cooperation; bring tangible benefits to the people two countries. "Vietnam optimistic about better relations between the two countries in the future" - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said.
The aim of the visit is to assess and exchange methods, expand the areas of cooperation between Oregon and new partners - Vietnam, Governor Kate Brown said that the results achieved has opened a lot cooperation opportunities between Oregon and Vietnam. She also expressed optimism about the investment of US businesses in Vietnam after the Agreement of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) was signed and to take effect.
In addition to the traditional areas of cooperation is to support Vietnam in terms of experience and techniques in the field of search and rescue, humanitarian assistance, Kate Brown said that Oregon is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in the field of economy, trade, clean energy, sustainable development and combating climate change and protecting the environment; cooperation on education and training, culture and many other fields.
