The third session of the Vietnam-Laos joint committee on science and technology cooperation took place in Vientiane, Laos on December 10.

Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan and his Lao counterpart Boviengkham Vongdala expressed satisfaction at the cooperation activities in intellectual property, human resources development, and legal infrastructure for radiation safety, helping Laos fulfil its duties as a member in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Vietnam has helped Laos in building compost and microbial organic fertiliser manufacturing factories in Sayaboury province as well as a number of projects between Vietnamese and Lao provinces to improve personnel competence and facilitate technological transfer.
The Vietnamese side will continue to assist the Lao side in building legal documents in the field of science and technology, while devising joint projects in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, information technology, telecom, and geographical information.
