Brazilian President to visit Vietnam late this month

At the invitation of President Luong Cuong, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will visit Vietnam from March 27-29. This marks his second visit since 2008, aimed at strengthening the newly upgraded strategic partnership. He is expected to discuss trade, renewable energy, education, and science and technology cooperation.

Singapore Prime Minister to visit Vietnam on March 25-26

Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his spouse will visit Vietnam from March 25-26 at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The visit, which strengthens the newly-upgraded Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, will focus on trade, energy security, the digital economy, and ASEAN cooperation, coinciding with key anniversaries in 2025.

Earth Hour 2025 in Vietnam saves 448,000 kWh

Vietnam saved 448,000 kWh of electricity, worth about US$37,000, during Earth Hour 2025 from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on March 22. The nationwide campaign promotes energy conservation and environmental awareness and marks Vietnam's 17th year in the global movement (2008-2025).

Quang Nam opens Song Thu and An Binh bridges

The central province of Quang Nam inaugurated the Song Thu and An Binh bridges on March 23, costing VND930 billion ($37 million). Spanning the Vu Gia and Thu Bon rivers, the bridges will enhance connectivity, replace unsafe ferries, and support economic growth in the region.

Quang Ninh hosts first cherry blossom festival

Quang Ninh, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay, hosted its first Cherry Blossom Festival on March 22-23 to boost local tourism and culture. The event featured a cherry blossom exhibition with 1,000 trees, OCOP product displays, and cultural activities. The city plans to develop 30.6 hectares for cherry blossom tourism, aiming to attract 11.5 million visitors by 2025.

Hanoi Olympic Run Day draws 4,000 people

Over 4,000 people participated in Hanoi's Olympic Run Day for Public Health around Hoan Kiem Lake on March 23. The event, now in its 50th year, promotes fitness and peace. With 350,000 participants citywide, it leads up to the final race on September 28, when top athletes will be selected for Hanoi's official competition.
