Vietnam welcomes resolution on Gaza ceasefire
Vietnam supports the UN Security Council's resolution on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and calls on relevant parties to implement it immediately - Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said on March 27.
The UN Security Council adopted a resolution on March 25 calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the month of Ramadan, the immediate and unconditional release of hostages, and the urgent need to increase the flow of aid to Gaza.
Hanoi urges businesses to apply technology for collect parking fee collection
The Hanoi Department of Transport has asked 40 parking operators to report their plan to collect parking fees via technology by March 30. The move aims to increase transparency in the collection of parking fees at locations licensed by the department.
After the trial period, there will be widespread implementation. The city has 57 licensed parking lots in commercial centers, residential areas, hospitals and schools, and 639 on-street parking lots with a total area of approximately 135,000 m2.

Vietnamese visitors to Japan in February reaches highest level ever
According to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) in Vietnam, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan in February 2024 reached more than 60,000, surpassing 55,800 visitors in February 2023 and becoming the highest month in history. In the first two months of 2024, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan reached more than 107,000, an increase of 40% compared to the same period in 2019, but 2.5% lower than the same period last year.
EuroCham Vietnam announces new chairman for 2024
The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) has announced its Board of Directors for 2024, appointing Dominik Meichle, CEO of Bosch Vietnam, as the new Chairman, replacing his predecessor Gabor Fluit.
Meichle hopes that Europe and Vietnam will continue to promote cooperation and strengthen committed dialogues to explore opportunities for effective cooperation and sustainable economic growth in Vietnam.
Under Meichle's leadership, EuroCham is setting the agenda for 2024, focusing on strengthening policy advocacy and expanding environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives.
Launch of the Vietnam-Japan New Era Joint Initiative, Phase 1
The first phase of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative in the New Era, from March 2024 to October 2025, will focus on five key areas to promote economic cooperation and investment between the two countries. The signing ceremony of the Joint Initiative was held on March 27, based on the Joint Declaration on upgrading Vietnam-Japan relations to a "comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world" and the results of implementing the eight phases of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative over the past 20 years.
National Occupational Safety Dialogue to be held in April
The National Month for Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2024 will be launched at the end of April with the theme "Improving Occupational Safety and Health in the Workplace and Supply Chain". A highlight of the event will be the dialog session of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Hygiene.
The Month will be held in May, alongside Workers' Month, with the aim of strengthening the control of occupational accidents and diseases, promoting the export of goods and contributing to the implementation of the strategy for sustainable socio-economic development.
