Vietnam in wartime photo exhibition to be held in France

The Guimet Museum of Asian Art in Paris will showcase photographs taken by French photographer Marc Riboud during the war in Vietnam (1966-1967) on March 5-12 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the war. Marc Riboud, born in 1923, had his work published in major magazines and won many prestigious awards. His powerful images helped raise global awareness and support for Vietnam's struggle against the US-led war.

US businesses seek opportunities in Vietnam

Over 60 US companies from the defense, services, banking, consumer goods, and high-tech sectors will visit Vietnam from March 18 to 20 to explore cooperation opportunities organized by the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC). Vietnam sees potential growth amid shifting trade policies, emphasizing direct-to-consumer sales and local partnerships for market expansion.

Vietnam attracts nearly US$7 billion in foreign investment

Vietnam registered nearly US$6.9 billion in foreign investment in the first two months of the year, up 35.5% year-on-year. Investments came from 44 countries and territories, led by China with US$679.8 million, accounting for 31% of newly registered capital, followed by Singapore, Hong Kong, the US, and Japan. Meanwhile, Vietnam sent nearly US$239 million abroad, 9.5 times more than in 2024, with Laos as the top recipient, followed by the Philippines, Indonesia, the British Virgin Islands, and Cuba.

Vietnam’s seafood exports earn $1.42 billion in early 2025

Vietnam's total seafood exports from January to February hit $1.42 billion, up 18.2% year-on-year. Shrimp led the growth with $542.4 million, up 30.8%, while pangasius exports reached $253.2 million. China, Japan and the US remained the top markets, with China surging 80.8%.

Vietnam sees nearly four million international arrivals in early 2025

Vietnam welcomed nearly four million international visitors from January to February, up 30.2% year-on-year. China topped the list with a 77.8% increase, followed by strong growth from Japan (+37.3%), the US (+15.7%) and Russia (+104.3%). Visa waivers and tourism stimulus programs are expected to keep the momentum going.

Vietnam hosts international amateur golf tournament

The 2025 Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP) Championship will be held March 6-9 in the central province of Quang Nam, featuring 94 golfers from 24 countries. The winner will earn spots in three women's major championships. Vietnam has six representatives, including 12-year-old Nguyen Bao Chau, the youngest competitor. This is the first time Vietnam has hosted the event.

Quang Ninh opens Bai Tu Long Bay sightseeing routes

The northern province of Quang Ninh has launched 10 sightseeing tours in Bai Tu Long Bay and three connecting Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. Local authorities have conducted research, completed legal procedures, invested in infrastructure, and cooperated with tourism enterprises to develop tour programs. Bai Tu Long Bay, located in Quang Ninh Province and adjacent to Ha Long Bay, has been selected as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Southeast Asia.

VNPT's Internet speed becomes the fastest in Vietnam

VNPT (Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group) was Vietnam's fastest internet provider from December 2024 to January 2025, with speeds 1.5 times faster than its competitors, according to i-Speed. Download speeds rose from 140 Mbps in December to 181.56 Mbps in January, while upload speeds increased from 111.88 Mbps to 137.77 Mbps. Founded in 2006, VNPT is now Vietnam's largest fiber-optic Internet provider, with nearly 10 million subscribers.
