Amazon suspends Prime Video service in Vietnam
Many Prime Video accounts in Vietnam have received notifications that the service will cease operations after October 31. In addition, active Prime Video subscriptions will be canceled and not automatically renewed.
Prime Video is one of the cross-border platforms specializing in providing TV and movie content, similar to Netflix, which has been available in Vietnam since late 2016. Amazon did not explain the above decision, but some experts believe the reason could be to comply with Vietnamese regulations that require cross-border video streaming providers to apply for licenses.
