Vietnam opens channel to collect citizens’ feedback on corruption
In addition to direct calls, Vietnamese can text and email to the Government Inspectorate.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau under Vietnamese Government Inspectorate on December 18 made public telephone numbers and e-mail boxes to receive corruption denouncements, VnExpress reported.
Accordingly, from December 2018, feedback is sent to the Anti-Corruption Bureau during office hours by dialing 080.48228, or texting SMS to 0911.156161 or via e-mail at cucchongthamnhung@thanhtra.gov.vn.
Besides, the Anti-Corruption Bureau said that denouncements on presenting Tet gifts in contravention of regulations will be verified and handled. If grounds to identify violations are found, punishment proposals will be submitted to the Prime Minister.
For many years, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has opened hotlines to receive information denouncing acts of corruption or receiving Tet gifts in contravention of regulations. On each occasion of Tet holiday, the agency receives hundreds of calls and messages of denouncements but few have been handled.
