On this occasion, Tourism Magazine and Tiktok also signed an agreement to develop the content on promoting Vietnam’s tourism via Tiktok; research and build a project to advertise Vietnam’s tourism to major international markets, including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Australia, among others.
The program is among activities to promote Vietnam’s tourism with diverse content and honor Vietnamese people’s creativity. Accordingly, Tourism Magazine is in charge of operating the VietnamTourism account on TikTok while TikTok will organize training courses for Tourism Magazine and partners on how to create videos or films and use TikTok’s platform effectively.
Under the agreement, a series of programs to promote Vietnam's tourism in the 2019 – 2020 period with the hashtag #HelloVietnam will be jointly deployed between Tiktok Vietnam and Tourism Magazine. The program targets drawing 100 million views with 30,000 short videos on the beauty of Vietnamese landscape, culture and people.
TikTok, which has over 12 million users in Vietnam, pledges to cooperate with competent authorities and businesses to promote Vietnamese culture and tourism.
The number of foreign visitors to Vietnam in the first five-month of 2019 is estimated at nearly 7.3 million, up 8.8% against the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The country expects to welcome some 18 million international visitors this year, compared to 15.5 million in 2018.
