Vietnam sends 33,600 labourers work abroad after four months

The Overseas Labour Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said in the first four months of 2016, about 33,600 Vietnamese labourers worked abroad, accounting for 33.69% of the target for this year.

According to the department, there were more than 10,400 Vietnamese people who were sent to work abroad in April.
During the reviewed time, Taiwan still ranked the largest market for Vietnamese labourers with 4,991 workers, followed by Japan (3,349), the Republic of Korea (1,510), Saudi Arabia (310), and Malaysia (122).
The export labour market has witnessed a growth with opportunities for Vietnamese workers in new markets such as Thailand and Australia.

This year, a maximum of 200 Vietnamese labourers are expected to get visas for visiting and working in Australia for 12 months.
Ten Vietnamese enterprises were also allowed to send labourers to work in Thailand in the sectors of fishing and construction in 2016.
The Republic of Korea is set to receive 3,500 Vietnamese workers this year.
