Vietnam shines in RCI’s world’s must-visit destinations for solo travelers list

RCI has announced its annual ranking of the world’s top must-visit destinations that should be on every solo traveler’s bucket list.

Vietnam has been ranked second among the five must-visit destinations across the world, according to a list released by RCI, a largest timeshare vacation exchange network in the world.

Unforgettable experiences are everywhere in Vietnam. It is a land of staggering natural beauty and cultural complexities, of dynamic megacities and hill-tribe villages, according to RCI.
“Vietnam has a lot to offer for solo travelers, once you break through the initial barrier, Saigonese are friendly and open. You can mingle with villagers, sample local dishes and sip rice wine in Vietnam’s many regional markets,” RCI wrote.
In addition, RCI has some words of advice for travelers that they can enjoy walks on the streets and spot Ancient temples that distinctly display the Chinese influences in the north and Hindu origins in the south.
Leh, a largest town in Ladakh, tops the list, followed by Vietnam, Pondicherry - the capital city and the largest city of the Indian, San Francisco (US), and Budapest (Hungary).
Earlier, MoneyWise, a UK digital personal finance publication, has just named Vietnam the number one destination among the 10 best countries in the world that you can visti a modicum of comfort without breaking the bank.
“You'll be amazed what you can get in Vietnam for just US$1. No, really, US$1 will get you a couple of beers. It’ll also get you a bowl of delicious pho (noodle soup). Five bucks will get you a room for the night,” MoneyWise wrote.
But the star of the show has to be the city of Hoi An, where you can get yourself a custom-made suit — something that would set you back at least a grand in New York — for just US$100.
The number of foreign tourists to Vietnam in the first seven months of 2018 is estimated at 9.08 million, a year-on-year rise of 25.4%, the General Statistics Office (GSO) has announced.
In 2018, Vietnam aims to serve 16 million foreign tourists and 80 million domestic tourists, according to General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Van Tuan.
Accordingly, the tourism sector will promote smart tourism and actively carry out promotion activities in the remaining months of the year to attract more tourists in key markets.
