Vietnam shines in Traveller’s list of best countries for budget travelers
There are exceptions to the rule, but most places where people put thought and care into their budget accommodation, will tend to be welcoming and enjoyable for backpackers across the board.
Vietnam has been named among the best countries for budget travelers, according to a list released by Traveller, an Australian travel website.
Traveller advises tourists that if they love to travel and don't have a lot of money to spend, Vietnam is their destination. This country is seriously affordable, from the food and drink to the transport to the accommodation.
“And while most travellers stick to the coast when they're in Vietnam, hitting popular spots like Saigon, Hoi An and Nha Trang, there's even more value inland, in Dalat. This is home to the Hoscars' best-value hostel, Dalat Friendly Fun, and its third best small hostel, Cosy Nook,” Traveller wrote.
New Zealand tops the list, followed by Russia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Colombia, Vietnam, Spain, Greece, The Netherlands.
Earlier, The Travel, a vacation destination website, has named Vietnam the number one destination on its 10 cheap countries to visit.
“I never quite understand how Vietnam manages to be so widely underrated. Maybe it’s because when people think of traveling to Asia they think of China, Thailand, Japan - Vietnam always seems to be way down the list, and I can’t quite grasp why it isn’t better thought of as a vacation destination,” The Travel’s author wrote.
It’s cheap, but that’s far from the best thing about it. The country is absolutely breathtaking. It’s also famous for its cave guided tours, one of which actually takes four days to even enter a cave, because fewer people have seen the inside of it than have seen the summit of Everest. So for the adrenaline junkies, this destination is for you.
