The Hanoi Times - Vietnam’s “Using VSAT IP Solution to Bring Broadband Internet to the Countryside” solution won a silver medal at the Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology Awards 2008.
APICTA is the annual awards initiated by the Multimedia Development Corporation of
APICTA 2008 was held for products and solutions in 16 areas: education and training, healthcare, industry, telecommunications, tourism, finance, information security, e-government, e-citizen, general solutions, research and development solutions, multimedia and entertainment, application tools and infrastructure, starting business, ICT projects of university students, and ICT projects of high-school students.

Among 144 products and solutions brought to the contest, Vietnam had only two and one of them “Using VSAT IP Technology to Bring Broadband Internet to the Countryside” solution, developed by the Department of Science and Technology of southern Dong Nai province, won the silver award.
The other product “Device Supporting Information Security Quality Management” ranked third out of nine products in the category of information security.
