Vietnam targets US$3.3 billion rubber exports for 2025

Vietnam's rubber industry needs to concentrate on a range of strategies customized for each major market.

THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnam has set a target of $3.3 billion in rubber exports in 2025, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE).

To reach the annual target, Vietnam must earn an additional $2.1 billion in the second half, according to the MAE.

The ministry said the rubber sector needs to focus on various measures tailored to each key market, such as the European Union (EU), emphasizing high-quality products that comply with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) starting in 2026.

Efforts to develop EUDR-compliant production models are led by Vietnam Rubber Group’s plantations, while private firms like Mai Vinh, Viet Sing, and Thuan Loi work with smallholders and agents to build traceable, legal supply chains.

The MAE is promoting innovation in processing and quality improvement to help Vietnamese rubber products reach mid- and high-end markets in countries such as Spain and Italy, particularly in the fashion and household goods industries.
