Vietnam to hold International Travel Mart 2017 in April

The fifth Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) is expected to take place on April 6-9 in capital Hanoi with the participation of over 600 domestic and foreign exhibitors.

Under the theme of "Hanoi, the destination of Vietnam in 2017," the mart will be attended by exhibitors from 43 Vietnamese localities as well as 25 countries and regions including India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Russia.
With some 450 booths, the VITM 2017 is estimated to attract some 60,000 person-times of visitors.
VITM 2017 offers an extensive program to introduce Hanoi, ranging from new and special tour products, a photo contest, traditional art performances to conferences and workshops. Not only will the VITM 2017 provide thousands of promotional tour packages and low-cost air tickets, it will also bring the best opportunities to foreign tour operators and providers to promote destinations and seek new business deals.
Organized the first time in 2013, this year’s event is the fifth edition and considered Vietnam’s premier tourism event and one of the largest travel shows in the region.
Last year, the country welcomed more than 10 million international arrivals, up 26 per cent year-on-year, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
With a population of 92 million and rapid expansion in the number of middle class families, the demand for outbound travel has increased dramatically. In 2016, there were more than 6.5 million Vietnamese people travelling overseas, an increase of 15 per cent year-on-year.
