Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has recently given instructions on hosting the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest Robocon 2018.
The contest is scheduled for August 26 in Ninh Binh northern province of Vietnam. This is the 3rd year Vietnam has hosted the ABU Robocon competition.
Dam asked the national TV station Vietnam Television to take the lead in coordinating with the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to organize ABU Robocon 2018 in accordance with regulations, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
According to the organizing board, the theme of the competition is inspired by Vietnamese folk game “nem con” (throwing ball through the ring). The participating teams will be required to design robots that incorporate elements such as techniques, precision, skills and design unique, colorful balls reflecting the team’s characteristics.
