A global information security competition will take place for the first time in Vietnam, announced BKAV, the top local internet security firm and host of the event, on September 23.
The qualifying round of the WhiteHat Grand Prix – Global Challenge 2015, themed “Hello, Vietnam”, will be held online on October 24-25 at WhiteHatVN.com.
Participating teams will have to answer a series of security questions regarding web exploit, reverse, pwnable, forensics and crypto.
The ten best teams will compete in the final, slated for December 19 in Hanoi under the form of attack/defence.
The winner of the contest will be awarded 225 million VND (9,900 USD).
WhiteHat Grand Prix has been organised by BKAV since 2014 at the national level. In July 2015, the company began rolling out the global competition quarterly, attracting nearly 200 teams from countries such as the US, Russia and Japan.
Ngo Tuan Anh, BKAV’s Vice President of Internet Security , said the competition will offer a good opportunity for internet security experts worldwide to show off their talent and explore the land and people of Vietnam, contributing to promoting the country’s internet security activities, he said.
