Vietnam took top honours at IDEERS

Vietnam took top honours at Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools (IDEERS) competition held in Taiwan from September 20-21, which attracted the participation of 100 teams from 10 countries and territories in the Asia- Pacific region.

Four students from Duy Tan University, located in Danang central city overcame 43 other teams in the college category with 139 points in an earthquake-resistant house model design contest.
 


The Duy Tan team house model weighed 5 kilograms and was designed to sustain 30 kilograms of earthquake pressure on it.

IDEERS was jointly held by Taiwan’s National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE), the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARL), National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE), National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR), and Asia-Pacific Network of Centers for Earthquake Engineering Research (ANCER).
