Vietnam welcomes 15.5 million foreign visitors in 2018

In December alone, Vietnam received more than 1.3 million inbound visitors, representing an on-year jump of 7.7%.

The number of foreign visitors to Vietnam in 2018 is estimated at 15.5 million, a 19.9% increase from 2017, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

Arrivals by road, air in the reviewed period recorded on-year increases of 59.6% and 14.4%, respectively, while growth was also seen in the number of visitors from all five continents.
In December alone, Vietnam received more than 1.3 million, representing an on-year jump of 7.7%, according to VNAT.
In 2018, increases were recorded in the number of holidaymakers from most markets, particularly South Korea (44.3%), China (23.9%), Taiwan – China (15.9%), Thailand (15.8%), Malaysia (12.4%), Japan (3.6%) and Singapore (3.1%).
According to VNAT, Vietnam’s tourism revenue is estimated at VND620 trillion (US$26.5 billion) in 2018, an increase of nearly VND110 trillion against the previous year.
Earlier, Vietnam has been named among the world’s 10 countries you should visit in 2019 if you’re on a budget, according to a list released by Traveller, the essential resource for Australian travel lovers.
“The best meal of your life, ans it will only cost US$2. That’s what’s on offer in Vietnam, not just on one rare occasion, but every time you sit down for breakfast, lunch or dinner,” Traveller wrote.
According to the website, the food here is just so good and cheap. Vietnam has always been popular among budget travelers, and justifiably so. In fact, plenty of people have already visited. If that’s the case for you, it’s time to go back in 2019, and dig a little deeper. Head out into the Mekong Delta. Explore the highlands around Da Lat or check out Bong Lai Valley, you won’t be disappointed.
