According to the Department of Educational Testing and Accreditation under the Ministry of Education and Training, all four members of the Vietnamese team won medals at an International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) held from August 12-19 in Russia.
Vietnam had its best-ever result at an International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) when all four members won medals at the IOI 2016 that concluded on August 19.
The gold medals were belonged to Phan Duc Nhat Minh and Pham Cao Nguyen, both from the High School for the Gifted of the National University of Hanoi.
Tran Tan Phat, from the High School for the Gifted of the National University of HCM City, won a silver while the remaining member of the team Le Quang Tuan, from the High School for the Gifted of the National University of Education, took a bronze.
With the successful result, Vietnam ranks seventh out of 81 participating countries and territories.
The 28th IOI 2016 attracted 308 candidates and 154 of them won medals, including 26 gold medals.
