Vietnamese enterprises attend Seoul Food 2022 this month

The event is a good opportunity for Vietnamese food and beverage businesses to promote trade activities abroad.

About 20 Vietnamese enterprises joined the Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition(Seoul Food 2022), which kicked off on June 7 at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX), Seoul, South Korea.

As one of the leading famous food industry exhibitions in Asia, Seoul Food 2022 attracted more than 800 companies with 1,600 booths from 30 countries and territories.

It is a good opportunity for Vietnamese food and beverage businesses to strengthen trade promotion activities and effectively access potential markets in South Korea and other countries.

Lam Dong Province’s TS Food Company has participated in the Seoul Food for the first time, with the aim to find customers who are interested in Vietnamese vegetables, tubers and fruits, according to Hoang Thi Quynh Tram, a representative from TS Food.

“Vietnam's agriculture has great potential for export and the participation in events like this one would further promote Vietnamese farm produce worldwide,” she said.

The company's sales have steadily increased after six years of exporting to South Korea.

Another company, Bao Hung International JSC, brought to the event confectionery, cookies, chocolate-covered soft cakes, chocolate candies and Omeli-branded jellies.

Tran Thi Kim Giang, a representative from Bao Hung, said the company has cooperated with two South Korean distributors for three years and the East Asian country has become one of its main markets. “We want to further boost export to the South Korean market in the near future,” she added.

Within the framework of Seoul Food 2022, the organizers will also hold seminars and conferences on global food trends and technology, the Seoul Food Awards 2022, a Food Job Fair, and the Business Buyer Program.

In particular, the Seoul Food 2022 features an export support program for companies in need with a series of online export conferences running from July 15 to 31.

On the sidelines of the event, the ASEAN-Korea Center will organize the ASEAN trade fair to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to access the market and improve their competitiveness.

The exhibition will last until June 10 and is expected to attract 30,000 visitors.

Established in 2014, the ASEAN trade show has supported ASEAN small and medium-sized enterprises in many fields that wish to target the South Korean market.
