Vietnamese language course held for PRD officials

Thailand`s Public Relations Department (PRD) is offering a Vietnamese language course for its officials in preparation for the ASEAN Community (AC) which is commencing this year.

The AC is uniting ten Southeast Asian countries in a variety of ways to help foster and develop an increase of intertwined international business and cultural relations.
PRD Deputy Director-General CharoonChaisorn said in his opening remarks that the programme includes the teaching of the contemporary Hanoi dialect and is focusing on both proper pronunciation and general communication. The course will provide officials with the necessary vocabulary to communicate with Vietnamese people at an elementary level.
Charoon said a Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the PRD has facilitated cooperation concerning the exchange of information and relevant news items. It is expected that the plan will further strengthen relations between Thailand and Vietnam.
He added that the cooperation between the Vietnam News Agency and PRD will surely promote mutual understanding between the two peoples.
