Vietnam - Laos Youth Friendship Meeting 2016 will be held in Laos from July 5-11, said Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Long Hai.
Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Long Hai said fifty outstanding Vietnamese youths will meet their Lao counterparts at an exchange in Laos from July 5-11.
The political event aims to strengthen traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples, Hai said.
The meeting will feature scientific seminars that discuss creativity and the start-up spirit among youths and promote friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation for a bright future for Laos – Vietnam youths, he added.
As scheduled, participants will visit a museum dedicated to President Kaysone Phomvihane, a Ho Chi Minh trail relic site, Se Set hydropower plant, Champasak University and join celebrations for National Fish Releasing Day.
Over the past years, Vietnamese and Lao youths have facilitated regular exchanges, particularly in border provinces and conducted thematic studies.
Both youth unions have supported each other in training personnel in major youth work, and joint work in media, publishing and entrepreneurship.
Youth union officials have offered assistance to students who pursue studies in each others country, and hosted cultural and art exchanges on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year and major holidays.
In multilateral cooperation, they effectively worked together in youth cooperation mechanisms in the region and the world.
On afternoon of July 4, the Vietnamese delegation led by Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Long Hai paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the National Martyrs’ Cemetery on Road 9, in the central province of Quang Tri.
