Vietnamese coffee, tea, confectionery, fine arts and others are on display for the first time at the traditional Ukrainian trade fair taking place in Veliki Sorochinsy, Ukraine’s central province of Poltava from August 18-25.
Vietnamese booths at the fair have attracted a large number of visitors including Poltava governor Valery Golovko and Malaysian Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban who came to study some of Vietnam’s strong export products.
International friends to the fair were interested in Vietnamese documents, magazines and pictures introducing the country, culture and people.
The fair, entitled “Ukraine - a united family”, has drawn the participation of more than 1,000 businesses, small traders and craftsmen. It has also been brightened by colourful performances of numerous art troupes.
The Vietnamese Embassy to Ukraine intends to expand Vietnam’s participation in the fair next year, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tri told the Ukrainian press.
Half a million people come to the fair annually, which has been organised since the 18th century. However, the number of visitors fell sharply in 2014 as a result of complicated situations in the host country.
