Vietnam’s first telecom satellite arrives in launching pad

Hanoi Times – Vinasat 1 has been transported to the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana already. It is now in the final test before being attached to Ariane 5 missile.

Hanoi Times – Vinasat 1 has been transported to the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana already. It is now in the final test before being attached to Ariane 5 missile.

The final test, conducted by the manufacturer Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems and the French launching service provider Arianespaces, will last for 4-5 weeks.

Ariane 5 missile will carry both Vietnam’s Vinasat 1 and Brazil’s Star o­ne C2 satellites to the space. Vinasat 1 is 2.7 tons in weight, 4m high while Star o­ne C2 is 4.1 tons.
