Its natural beauty makes it one of Vietnam’s No.1 tourist sites, according to Insider. The bay is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The best way to see Ha Long’s awe-inspiring limestone towers is by boat. In fact, many tourists stay overnight on a boat in the bay.

In 2019, the Business Insider also named Ha Long Bay among the 35 most beautiful natural wonders on Earth. In 2018, Ha Long Bay was ranked 14th in Business Insider’s list of the 100 most beautiful UNESCO World Heritages.

According to the New 7 Wonders of Nature, the bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various shapes and sizes. It is a center of a larger zone which includes Bai Tu Long Bay to the northeast, and Cat Ba Island to the southwest. These larger zones share  similar geological, geographical, geomorphological, climate and cultural characteristics.

Recognized twice by the UNESCO as a global heritage site for its landscape and geological value, Ha Long Bay has become a magnet for visitors.

Other famous spots which made to the list are Caño Cristales River (Colombia), The Tianzi mountains (China), Antelope Canyon (Arizona, the US), the Giant’s Causeway (Northern Ireland), Skógafoss (Skógar, Iceland), Badab-e Surt (Iran), Socotra Island (Yemen), Thor's Well (Oregon, the US), Waitomo Glowworm Caves (New Zealand), Lake Hillier (Australia), Spotted Lake (British Columbia, Canada), Red Beach (Panjin, China), Pamukkale (Turkey), and more.
