A cultural extravaganza promoting the vibrant traditional customs of 54 Vietnamese ethnic minorities was held on March 29 at the Culture- Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups, outside of Hanoi, to welcome delegates to the 132 nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132).
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Tong Thi Phong declared that the event aimed to give IPU-132 participants a chance to enjoy outstanding national cultural features, including spiritual rituals, traditional costumes and cuisine and unique folk games.
She hoped that representatives from the 54 ethnic groups, all beneficiaries of comprehensive national investment policy, would help the visitors gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam and its vibrant and united people.
