VTV fined for offensive cartoon "Picking up bones for teacher"

On November 21, the Inspector of the Ministry of Information and Communications has decided to fine VTV for animated film under the theme of teachers which is causing annoyance in public.

The Inspector of Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) issued a decision on administrative sanctions against Vietnam Television (VTV) because it broadcasted the cartoon with a content which offensed teachers’ honor.
 
 
VTV was fined VND 30 million.
Specifically, on November 19, the cartoon themed "Picking up bones for teacher" was aired in the programme titled "Gift of life" of VTV3 channel.
The content of the film is about a voracious teacher who eat a pupil’s food. Then the pupil wishes the teacher to live until he will be 100 years old and the pupil will be 101 years old to "pick up bones for the teacher".
Shortly after the cartoon was aired, a lots viewers have expressed their anger due to the offensive content, especially the film was broadcasted before the anniversary of Vietnam Teacher's Day.
In addition to the amount of the administrative penalty, the Inspectorn of MIC has also asked VTV to sorry as rules.
