Women Union marks 30 years of Kovalevskaia prize

On March 6, the Vietnam Women’s Union marked 30 years of the Kovalevskaia prize in Hanoi in presence of Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

The 2015 prize winners are Associate Professor Doctor Dang Thi Cam Ha of the Academy of Science and Technology and Doctor Pham Thi Ngoc Thao of the Cho Ray Hospital in HCM city. 
  
Associate Professor Ha said, “Like our male colleagues, female scientists also face a lot of difficulties but we always must work hard to achieve what we want. Female scientists really need the support of family and friends.”

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission Truong Thi Mai said, “I hope that Vietnamese female scientists will help to improve the quality and competitiveness of Vietnamese products and inspire younger generations in scientific research.”

Over the last 30 years, the Vietnam Kovalevskaia Prize Committee has awarded 17 collectives and 44 individuals for their scientific research in mathematics, chemistry, biology, healthcare, education, and agriculture.
