Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in Hanoi have always been given favorable conditions to practice their faith in recent years, Kinh te & Do thi quoted Vice President of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Head of its Hanoi branch Thich Bao Nghiem as saying.

Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem made the statement when paying a courtesy visit to Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh on November 17.
Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem emphasized that the Hanoi branch of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha constantly strives to be an exemplary Buddhist organization in Vietnam.
He expressed his wish that the Hanoi mayor and the municipal People's Committee will make wise decisions to lead the capital city, building it into a metropolis deserving to be the heart of the country.
Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem also affirmed that he trusts and stands side by side with the city government to encourage Buddhist believers to do benevolent and beneficial deeds.
Buddhist faithfuls in the capital city and the whole country have promoted the spirit of solidarity, contributing to preventing and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic by donating billions of Vietnamese dong and essential goods for needy people.
For his part, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh said that 2020 is an important milestone of the city, especially to ensure the dual goal of preventing the Covid-19 pandemic and beefing up socio-economic development.
Buddhist faithfuls, monks and nuns in Hanoi have made important contributions to fulfill the goal of socio-economic development, the Hanoi mayor said, expressing hope that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will continue to join hands with the municipal government to well perform the assigned tasks, especially the prevention of the Covid-19 disease and resumption of economic activity.
