The view was shared at the meeting between the Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen and the high-level delegation of Vientiane’s trade union led by its Chairman Dao Phet Aroune on August 15.
At the meeting, Tuyen highlighted the significance of the delegation’s visit, which took place on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 – September 5, 2022), and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977 – July 18, 2022).
Tuyen mentioned the recent visit of the Secretary of the Vientiane Party Committee Anouphap Tounalom to Hanoi and stated this would open up a new phase in cooperation between the two capitals in all spheres, including that of trade unions.
For his part, Dao Phet Aroune noted the visit of the high-level delegation of Vientiane’s trade union would further contribute to the solidarity and comprehensive partnership between the two Parties, States and peoples in general, and of the two capitals in particular.
Dao Phet Aroune briefed Tuyen on the meeting with the Hanoi Federation of Labor and the subsequent signing of the cooperation agreement for the 2022-2027 period. Previously, he attended the opening of a training course for staff of trade unions of Vientiane and Luang Prabang.
“The course is significant in addressing issues related to laborers management that Vientiane is facing, especially in labor immigration,” Dao Phet Aroune said.
Hanoi's Vice Party chief mentioned the strong partnership between trade unions from the two capitals over the years and expected the upcoming classes for staff from Vientiane and Luang Prabang would have long-term benefits.
“Annual exchange activities have been essential in nurturing the relations between the two countries, Parties and working classes, as well as deepening the partnership of the two capitals,” Tuyen said.
