Hanoi to put more than 70 schools into operation in the coming school year
Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Le Ngoc Quang gave a report on results of the 2017-2018 school year and preparations for the next school year at the recent press conference held by the Hanoi Party Committee’s Commission for Education and Communication.
Accordingly, to prepare for the 2018 – 2019 school year, Hanoi finished the granting of enrollment code along with instructions. Registration time for grade 1 is from July 1 to 3; primary school for five year children from July 4 to 7; grade 6 from July 7 to 9.
All schools will sum up the number of students who register online from July 10 to 12, while, the number of direct enrollment dossiers will be aggregated from July 13 to 18.
For enrollment in grade 10, public high schools will receive enrollment records from July 1 to 3 and additional recruitment during two days (July 5-6). Meanwhile, high schools for the gifted will start the exam from June 7 to 9, 2018.
In terms of preparing for national high school graduation and college entrance exams in 2018, the capital city has a total of 79,625 students that have registered to sit the high school graduation and college entrance exams.
Giving a report on results of the 2017-2018 school year, the representative of the Department of Education and Training said that Hanoi has well deployed major missions and gained many comprehensive achievements.
Particularly, in the 2017-2018 school year, the city recorded a total of 2,641 primary, general schools and professional secondary schools with 1,892,748 students.
In addition, the city’s education and training sector successfully completed the building and recognition of 130 national standard schools, reaching over 162% against the plan and increasing the total number of national standard schools to 52%.
In 2018, districts, towns built 70 schools at all education levels with the total cost of VND 3,276. Besides, 387 degraded schools were also improved with the total cost of VND 1,846,008 million.
