Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc concluded on the adjustment of land use master plan to 2020 and localities’ land use plan for the final five-year period (2016 – 2020).

At the same time, the Prime Minister requested to raise and strengthen the responsibility of the Party committees and government authorities in localities, especially the responsibility of the Secretary of the City/Provincial Party Committees and the leaders of the provincial People's Committees in the management and use of forest and natural land.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to lead and coordinate with the Government Office to finalize the dossiers for submission to the Government for approval on the adjustment of land use plan up to 2020 and final land use plan (2016-2020), for provinces which have land planning targets in compliance with the direction on the forest land use issued by the Party’s Secretariat and the Government, and have forest land use targets equal to or higher than those allocated in the national plan.
In addition, adding more responsibility to provinces in management and use of forest land (including natural forest land) as stated in the Government Resolution approving the adjustment of land use plan up to 2020 and localities’ land the use plan for the final period (2016 - 2020.)
For provinces with forest land use targets lower than those allocated in the national plan, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to lead and coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as well as with localities to review, make concrete reports then submit them to the Government for consideration and decision.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to lead and coordinate with the concerned agencies to direct, inspect and supervise the conversion of forest land for the right purposes, minimizing the use of forest land.
