To boost relations with Japan, one of Vietnam’s biggest economic partners, HCMC has sent many delegations to the country to learn from its experience, especially that in economic development based on science technology and urban management.
Nguyen Thien Nhan said Vietnam is an agricultural country and he hopes that Japan will not only support HCMC in particular, but also Vietnam in general to develop hi-tech agriculture.
He affirmed that the city will work with the Japanese side to successfully organize the Japan-Vietnam Festival 2019.
For his part, Special Advisor of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance Tsutomu Takebe said Vietnam is in the process of developing high-tech agriculture, in which Japan holds substantial experience. Thus, Japan is willing to share its experience to support Vietnam in this field, he affirmed.
Regarding preparations for the Japan-Vietnam Festival 2019, the Japanese official said this is an important cultural event held annually between the two countries, saying his country wants to receive continued assistance from and close cooperation with Vietnam, and HCMC in particular, to make the event a success.
