A workshop to introduce tourism potential and destinations of the Mekong Delta region and Japan will be held during the fourth Vietnam - Japan culture and trade exchange in Can Tho.
Some 500 Japanese delegates and those from Mekong Delta region will gather at an event next month to enhance linkage between Japan and Mekong Delta localities.
They will join a number of cultural exchange activities to be held in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho from November 2 to 4 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties, according to Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper.
The event is part of the fourth Vietnam - Japan culture and trade exchange, which aims to promote trade, investment and culture exchange between Can Tho as well as other Mekong Delta localities and Japan.
The information was announced by the Vice Chairman of Can Tho People’s Committee, Truong Quang Hoai Nam at a press conference on October 10.
In the framework of the program, a photo exhibition highlighting Japan’s peace movement to support Vietnam during the war (1945 – 1975) and the Vietnam – Japan friendship will be arranged.
Especially, the Can Tho People’s Committee, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Can Tho in cooperation with Brainworks Asia in Japan to mark the debut of a direct flight from the Narita International Airport in Tokyo to Can Tho International Airport. It is hoped to pave the way for opening more international flights to and from the Can Tho international airport in the future
In addition, VCCI Can Tho will debut the Japanese language version of its website at www.vccimekong.com/jp to help Japanese businesses feel it easier to seek investment and cooperation opportunities in Vietnam’s Mekong River Delta region.
