The agreement was signed last weekend by Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN) and Ambassador Zéphyrin Maniratanga, Permanent Representative of Burundi to the UN.
The agreement is expected to facilitate the exchange of delegations between the two countries, contributing to boosting bilateral relations.
Once the agreement comes into effect, Vietnamese and Burundian bearers of diplomatic and official passports will be granted visa-free entry, stay, transit, and exit within 90 days from the date of entry.
Citizens of the two countries who are members of diplomatic missions, consular offices or representative offices of international organizations located in the territory of the other, and their family members holding diplomatic or official passports, are exempt from visa during the working term.
Vietnam and Burundi established diplomatic relations on April 16, 1975.
