12 southern teams to compete in nat’l robot competition

The Hanoitimes -  Twelve top engineering teams from the south have been selected to compete in the final round of the national robot competition “Robocon,” to be held in the Central Highlands’ city of Buon Ma Thuot from May 10-16.

The final round and closing ceremonies of the southern competition took place in Ho Chi Minh City’s Rach Mieu Indoor Stadium April 9 after five days of competition.

The southern event was themed “Robo-Pharaohs build pyramids,” and saw participation from 86 teams.

Sixty-nine of the teams were from universities and colleges in the southern region, while the remaining 17 were lone individuals.

Lac Hong University had the most impressive showing with eight teams being put through to the national final round, while four teams from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology were also selected.

The goal of the annual Robocon contest is to build the sturdiest, most agile robots to compete in tasks against other teams’ creations.

The most outstanding team at the southern competition this year was LH BEE of Lac Hong University.
