Turtle Tower
Turtle Tower also called Tortoise Tower is a small tower in the middle of Sword Lake, Hanoi, Vietnam. The tower was erected on the Turtle islet, the former fishing site under King Le Thanh Tong. Under the Restored Le Dynasty (17th and 18th centuries), the Trinh Lords had Ta Vong Temple built on the islet, which disappeared during the Nguyen Dynasty.
Hanoi Opera House
The Hanoi Opera House is an opera house in central Hanoi, Vietnam. It was erected by the French colonial administration between 1901 and 1911. It was modeled on the Palais Garnier, the older of Paris's two opera houses, and is considered to be one of the architectural landmarks of Hanoi. After the departure of the French the opera house became the scene for several political events. As well as the scene of street fighting during the fight for Hanoi.
The Hanoi Opera House provides the names for the neighboring Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel which opened in 1999, as well as for the MGallery Hotel de l'Opera Hanoi, which opened in 2011. For historical reasons associated with the Vietnam war, the Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel was not named the Hanoi Hilton.
St. Joseph's Cathedral, Hanoi
St. Joseph's Cathedral is a church on Nha Tho (Church) Street in the Hoan Kiem District of Hanoi, Vietnam. It’s a late 19th-century Gothic Revival (Neo-Gothic style) church that serves as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hanoi to nearly 4 million Catholics in the country.
Construction began in 1886, with the architectural style described as resembling Notre Dame de Paris. The church was one of the first structures built by the French colonial government in Indochina when it opened in December 1886. It is the oldest church in Hanoi.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is the final resting place of Vietminh leader Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi, Vietnam. It is a large building located in the center of Ba Dinh Square, where Minh, Chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam from 1951 until his death in 1969, read the Declaration of Independence on 2 September 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. It is also known as Ba Dinh Mausoleum and is open to the public.
One Pillar Pagoda
The One Pillar Pagoda is a historic Buddhist temple in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. It is regarded alongside the Perfume Temple, as one of Vietnam's two most iconic temples.
The temple was built by Emperor Ly Thai Tong, who ruled from 1028 to 1054. According to the court records, Ly Thai Tong was childless and dreamt that he met the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, who handed him a baby son while seated on a lotus flower. Ly Thai Tong then married a peasant girl that he had met and she bore him a son. The emperor constructed the temple in gratitude for this in 1049, having been told by a monk named Thien Tue to build the temple, by erecting a pillar in the middle of a lotus pond, similar to the one he saw in the dream.
Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural
Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural is a ceramic mosaic mural on the wall of the dyke system of Hanoi, Vietnam. With a length of about 6.5 km, the Ceramic Road is one of the major projects that were developed on the occasion of the Millennial Anniversary of Hanoi.
The Hanoi Ceramic Road originated with the journalist Nguyen Thu Thuy, who won a prize in the Hanoi architecture contest for her idea of transforming the dyke system around Hanoi into a ceramic mosaic. The work of decoration began in 2007 for the dyke wall of about 6.000m in length and 0.95m in height which runs along the road of Au Co, Nghi Tam, Yen Phu, Tran Nhat Duat, Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du and terminates at the pier of the Long Biên Bridge.
West Lake Temple
Situated on a small peninsula on West Lake (now in Quang An ward, Tay Ho District), West Lake Temple is not only a tourist attraction but also a place of religion for Hanoi people.
Legend has it that the Temple was built as early as around seventeenth century. The main temple has a three-door gate with a raised line written in Han script “the mark on West Lake” elaborately decorated near the top, followed by a small building constructed as a square pavilion with eight roofs.
Hanoi University of Pharmacy
Hanoi University of Pharmacy, formerly known as the Indochina Medicine School, was established by decree of the French government signed by Indochina General Governor Paul Doumer on 8 January 1902. The school was responsible for training doctors, Indochina pharmacists and research in tropical diseases.
Government Guesthouse
The Government Guesthouse is a building in Hanoi built in the French architectural style. This elegant building is located on Ngo Quyen Street, a short distance from the Sofitel Metropole Hotel.
Hang Dau water tower
This water tower was built in 1894, before Long Bien Bridge, and is located at the crossroads of Hang Than, Hang Luoc, Hang Giay, Hang Dau, Quan Thanh and Phan Dinh Phung streets.

The Ly Thai To statue is a large bronze sculpture of Emperor Ly Thai To, founder of the Ly dynasty of Vietnam. He also founded the city of Thang Long in 1010 which later became the city of Hanoi.

Long Biên Bridge is a historic cantilever bridge across the Red River that connects two districts, Hoan Kiem and Long Bien of the city of Hanoi, Vietnam. It was originally called Paul Doumer Bridge.
National Museum of Vietnamese History
The National Museum of Vietnamese History is located in the Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi, Vietnam. The museum building which was an archaeological research institution of the French School of the Far East under French colonial rule (Louis Finot École française d'Extrême-Orient EFEO) of 1910, was extensively refurbished in 1920. It was redesigned between 1926 and 1932 by architect Ernest Hébrard.
The museum was acquired by the Government of Vietnam in 1958 and then the artifact collections were expanded to cover eastern arts and national history.
Ham Long Church
Ham Long Church is a Roman Catholic church in the center district Hoan Kiem of Hanoi, Vietnam. The church was built at the end of the 19th century near an old street named Ham Long from which Ham Long Church was called. Today, Ham Long Church is one of the three major churches of Hanoi, together with Cua Bac Church and Saint Joseph Cathedral. It was named after saint Anthony of Padua.
