2016 Flower Street festival to be held back on Nguyen Hue Walking Street

According to the organising board, Saigontourist, the 2016 Flower Street festival in HCM City will be held on Nguyen Hue Walking Street from February 5-12, 2016.

The Flower Street festival is organised annually on the occasion of Tet (Lunar New Year) featuring the art of arranging flowers and ornamental plants and honour the values and beauty of HCM City.
Early this year, the city was upgrading Nguyen Hue into a central square for pedestrians only, so the Flower Street was organised on the adjacent Ham Nghi Boulevard.

The 2016 Flower Street festival in HCM City, themed “HCM City: Peace, Prosperity and Development”, will officially return to Nguyen Hue Boulevard, pedestrian street, spreading from Le Thanh Tong to Ton Duc Thang with a total length of 720 metres.
The Le Loi-Nguyen Hue intersection will be divided into three sections featuring different sub-themes: “Solidarity-Peace”, “Dynamic-Creative” and “Integration-Prosperity”.
This year's Flower Street festival will manifest an optimistic spirit and the belief in a bright future.
The themes of Uncle Ho and the ASEAN community will be cleverly shown by the talented artisans.
During this year's festival, the monkey family (the mascot of Tet) will be arranged on both sides, the center will be flower scene.
The area around Statue of late President Ho Chi Minh will be filled with 36 giant pots of yellow apricot blossom trees.

The organisers will use natural materials such as rattan and bamboo as well as recycled products to show their respect for a friendly environment.
The 13th Flower Street Festival will serve local residents and visitors from February 5-12, 2016 (from 27th of the 12th lunar month to 5th of the first lunar month).
Besides, tourists will have a chance to view florists, florist exhibitions, Doorshows performance and artistic lighting programme.
