The event aims to call for interest and raising public awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage and natural values.
The Vietnam Heritage Magazine launched the seventh Vietnam Heritage Photo contest 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City on August 1 for all Vietnamese people living in and outside the country as well as foreign residents in Vietnam.
The seventh Vietnam Heritage Photo contest will cover six topics, including Vietnam’s nature, material culture, intangible culture, daily life, Vietnamese Ao dai (traditional long dress) and travel with Vietjet. All submissions to the contest can be either single images or photo sets. Each photographer can send their photographs via e-mail to cuocthianhdisanvietnam@gmail.com from now through September 30.
The organizing board will pick the 100 best photos for display in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and in an online exhibition.
In addition, the awarding ceremony is expected to be held in late November 2018. The organizing board will present 18 prizes, including a special prize “Sky prize” with a free year on the domestic journet of Vietjet. The prize will be awarded to beautiful photos of nature, culture, and traveling with Vietjet.
The event aims to call for interest and raising public awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage and natural values, according to the Vietnam Heritage Magazine’s Editor-in-chief Le Thanh Hai.
Since it was first held in 2012, the contest has attracted a large number of organisations, individuals and photographers in the country and abroad.
In 2017, the contest voted for 16 best photos by authors from provinces and cities across the country, featuring the richness and diversity of Vietnam’s cultural heritages and human life, while expressing the love the photographers have for their country.
Three top prizes went to "Ke chuyen Ghe Ngo tram tuoi” by Dinh Cong Tam, "Ve dich” by Ngo Minh Phuong, and “Xom chai Dam Chuon” by Ha Van Dong. In addition, three second, three third and seven consolation prizes were also presented to both professional and amateur winners at the awarding ceremony.
"Ve dich” (Heading to the finish) by Ngo Minh Phuong wins the first prize of Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards 2017.
