At the recent conference on reviewing the tasks in October, 2017 as well as deploying major missions in the last two months of the year, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung also lines out a number of mechanisms and policies to be developed for Hanoi.
Accordingly, in October, the industrial production indicator witnessed a year-on-year increase of 7.3%; the total revenue of services posted a year-on-year increase of 11.5%; the export turnover reached USD 1,009 million, up 1.6% in comparison with the same period last year; the import turnover was estimated at USD 2,160 million, posting a month on month growth of 5.4% and a year-on-year increase of 4.7% ; the average consumer price index over the past ten months rose 3.36% year-on-year.
In October, international tourist arrivals fetched 315,000 turns of people, representing a month on month increase of 18.9% and a year on year surge of 41.1%; domestic visitors to Hanoi was estimated at 860,000, up 3.7% compared to the same period last year; the total revenue of tourist services fetched VND 5,390 billion, posting a year on year surge of 11.7%.
Especially, by the end of October, Hanoi received 128 projects in the form of public - private - partnership (PPP), in which, 8 projects were finished with the total investment of VND 13,683 billion and 12 others are implementing with the total investment of VND 28,505 billion. Foreign direct investment (FDI) was estimated at USD 2.23 billion. Over the past ten months, Hanoi has recorded 20,634 newly-founded enterprises, increasing the total number of businesses to 227,542. The rate of online registration fetched 98%.
Furthermore, over the past ten months, Hanoi has implemented various measures to ensure traffic, urban order; organized political and cultural events solemnly, economically and safely, especially activities on the framework of the 9th Sports Festival; paid attention to public healthcare; timely directed synchronous measures for prevention and control of dengue fever; ensured political security, social order and safety; enhanced measures to ensure security, order and strengthen the fight against crimes, etc.
In the last two months of the year, to fulfill all targets and missions of the socio – economic development, the Municipal People’s Committee asked agencies, organizations and enterprises to focus on producing, trading to complete contracts in 2017 as well as preparing for essential commodities for Lunar New Year Festival 2018.
Besides, departments, sectors and, agencies will continue implementing missions, measures; boosting the budget collection to fulfill and exceed yearly targets; strengthening administrative reform and discipline in public service agencies; well carrying out demand- stimulating activities; enhancing introduction to attract international tourists; making plans on supplying goods for Tet holiday, controlling the market and anti-smuggling; deploying agricultural production tasks for winter crop; overcoming consequences of floods to ensure people’s living standards; striving to fulfill and exceed the target of new style rural communes; drastically handling dengue fever; boosting the control of food hygiene and safety; strengthening communication on fire prevention.
