Algerian Ambassador awarded Friendship Order

Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam Cherif Chikhi has been conferred a Friendship Order for his contribution to strengthening the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

At the award ceremony in Hanoi on January 12, Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam highlighted fine developments in bilateral traditional friendship in politics, trade, investment and labour cooperation. He stated that the Vietnamese State highly appreciated the Ambassador’s role and contribution to boosting bilateral cooperation and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
 

 

For his part, Ambassador Cherif Chikhi expressed his honour to receive the noble award and considered it a manifestation of the fine bilateral friendly relations.

On the same day, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Union Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Nguyen Thi Hoang Van awarded the Peace and Friendship among Nations insignia to Ambassador Cherif Chikhi who concluded his five-year working term in Vietnam.

As head of the African ambassador group in Vietnam, Mr. Chikhi has coordinated with the VUFO, the Vietnam-Africa Friendship Cooperation Association (VAFCA), and the Vietnam-Algeria Friendship Association (VAFA) to organise a wide range of activities, including a photo exhibition and film shows on the national liberation movement of Asian and African countries to foster friendly relations between Vietnam and African countries, including Algeria.
