Ambassador Nguyen Anh Tuan: Vietnam treasures ties with Ukraine
Vietnam always cherishes relations with Ukraine and wants the ties to develop in various channels like state, parliament, government and people-to-people exchanges, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan
He made the statement while presenting credentials to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Nov 28.
Tuan expressed his pleasure to work as an ambassador in Ukraine, hoping that the President and relevant ministries and branches of the host nation will support him so that he can fulfil his task of elevating the bilateral relations to a new height as entrusted by the Vietnamese President and Government.

He expected that Ukrainian authorities will create favourable conditions for Vietnamese people community to work and study in the country.On the occasion, Tuan congratulated Petro Poroshenko on his country’s achievements in economy, social stability as well as regional and global integration in the past two years.
Vietnam and Ukraine are celebrating 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations with a slew of diplomatic events, including a meeting between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the Ukrainian President in January in Switzerland, a visit to Vietnam made by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimlin in September and a session of the Vietnam-Ukraine Inter-Governmental Committee, he stressed.
Poroshenko, for his part, appraised Vietnam’s successful organisation of APEC 2017 events as well as the country’s achievements in economy, foreign relations, culture and society.
Promoting relations with Vietnam is prioritised in Ukraine’s foreign policy in the coming time, he said, adding that he always pays due attention to meetings with Vietnamese leaders on the sidelines of international and multilateral conferences.
He committed to facilitating conditions for the Vietnamese diplomat during his tenure, saying that this will helps bolster the sound relations between the two countries.
