US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius affirmed the aim to turning the US into the largest investors in Vietnam in his tenure, during a meeting in Hanoi on November 16 with Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue.

At the reception, the Deputy PM congratulated the US government and citizens on the successful presidential election, selecting Donald Trump as the 45th president of the country.
Deputy PM Hue expressed his wish that Vietnam – US ties will continue to grow strongly during the tenure of the new President.
He suggested the US government and enterprises support the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum 2017 (APEC 2017) which will take place in Vietnam and to facilitate the entry of Vietnamese products, especially agricultural goods, in the US market.
For his part, Ambassador Ted Osius affirmed that the US will continue to boost relations between the two countries, adding that the US always attaches importance to its cooperation and ties with Asia.
The diplomat said the key goal in his term is to turn the US into the leading investor in Vietnam.
The ambassador noted that the US will focus its support to Vietnam on dealing with environmental pollution in Mekong Delta area, disarming bombs and mines, decontaminating dioxin, searching for soldiers’ remains, providing humanitarian aid overcoming natural disaster consequences.
Ambassador Ted Osius highlighted that the US always wants to promote bilateral trade and investment ties with Vietnam although the TTP ratification process is slowing down.
