The 10th annual HCM City Tourism Festival officially got underway on March 27 at Park 23/9 in district 1 featuring many tourism related venues and activities.
“The festival provides the city and business community an excellent opportunity to tout its tourism appeal.” said municipal People’s Committee Vice President Nguyen Thi Hong at the opening ceremony.
Roughly 46 participants, including travel agents, hotels and universities, are showcasing their tourism services and products, tours and promotional programs in more than 160 pavilions.
Another 10 cuisine stalls introduce visitors to traditional cuisines from around the world.
During the festival, a singing festival is being held, creating a useful playground for those who are working in the tourism sector.
More than 100 reputable businesses, hotels, resorts and tourism sites which have made significant contributions to the development of the tourism sector are scheduled to be honoured at ceremonies during the festival.
The festival which will run until March 30 is expected to attract around 300,000 visitors.
