Ao Dai Festival in HCM City attracts over 70,000 participants

The Ao Dai Festival 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City which was held from March 3-17, lured over 70,000 visitors participating in various activities, according to the organising board.

The 4th Ao Dai Festival 2017 in HCM City wrapped up on March 17. The festival attracted over 70,000 visitors who were invited to participate in various activities, the organising board announced.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Director of the city’s Tourism Department Bui Ta Hoang Vu said that the festival had received warm appreciation from individuals, collectives, sectors, local residents and tourists.
Director Vu said that HCM City authorities have hold the Ao Dai Festival in a bid to make the event a cultural and tourism festival that can attract more visitors to the city while promoting the charm of the Vietnam national costume to foreign friends.
The festival succeeded in establishing interaction with the participants through its thirteen major activities staged at outdoor spaces, such as a mass fashion show featuring 3,000 amateur models across Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, a photo contest and an Ao dai–themed painting competition.
During the closing ceremony, the municipal People’s Committee presented the certificates of merit to 14 individuals and collectives for their contributions to the success of the festival throughout its four editions.
