Scientists have conducted seven field research projects to preserve and develop gene sources, especially that of two rare tree species, scientifically called Hopea pierrei and Sindora tonkinensis, at Bach Ma National Park in central Thua Thien-Hue province.

They have also succeeded in researching and building many models to restore natural forests, organising the investigation and supervision of Carbi gibbon and applying the Mitigation Impact Screening Tool (MIST) in managing and supervising a database on forest protection patrol in the park.
These research projects have collected useful scientific information in service of bio-diversity research and conservation activities.
According to the latest finding, Bach Ma Park is now home to 2,373 flora and fungi species and over 1,700 fauna species, which accounted for 17% and 7% of the country’s flora and fauna, respectively.
