Exhibition “Story of the Birds”
You are invited to the exhibition “Chuyen cua nhung con chim” (Story of the Birds) by artist Nguyen Thi My.
Excerpt from the exhibition introduction by PhD. of Arts Pham Van Tuyen:
“Nguyen Thi My’s art, through paintings of birds, of scenery, of fishes, of old motorbikes and the story behind each painting is very close to what is called art for art’s sake, transcending through forms and techniques.
My’s story of art is the tug between reality and imagination creating two many conflicts at the same time: “At times sparks of hope appear only to be snuffled by reality. The worry, anxiety and even panic of reality. Quickly grab a brush and a color to find a shelter, how lucky it was for that feeling to be record.” Or with “Ngay mo uoc” (Dream day) the story of birds always ends the same. Although it is said that life and death are at God’s will, but most of them never do.”
