Boosting coordination to develop the Economic & Urban newspaper

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Le Hong Son worked with the Economic & Urban Newspaper on April 16 to review the operation and development of the newspaper in the past years and tasks for development in the coming time.

Chief Editor of the Economic & Urban Newspaper Nguyen Minh Duc said the newspaper has continously developed in the past 16 years. Currently, the newspaper has five publications, including: Economic & Urban Newspaper, Online Economic & Urban Newspaper, Hanoitimes page, Urban & Life magazine, and Interior magazine. The newspaper launched and operated the key external information channel of Hanoi - Hanoitimes since October 2014.

In order to develop further, the newspaper proposed Hanoi People's Committee and concerned agencies and departments to care for its release with ordered mechanism. Especially, the newspaper suggested the municipal authorities to soonly review, evaluate and approve the project of "Upgrading Hanoitimes page to the electronic media of Hanoitimes in the period of 2015 - 2020"; The upgrading of IT system in the period of 2016 - 2020; Plan for development of the Economic & Urban Newspaper in the period of 2016 - 2020.
Conclusing the meeting, Vice Chairman Le Hong Son recognized the efforts and achievements of the newspapers in recent years.
The Vice President also highlighted that as the speech agency of Hanoi People's Committee, the newspaper should constantly innovate the content and propaganda.
Vice Chairman Son agreed with the proposal to develop the multimedia Economic & Urban Newspaper.
He asked all relevant agencies and departments in conjunction with the newspaper to solve the problems of the financial mechanism, release, creating conditions for the newspapers to develop, and to meet political propaganda tasks.
