The Quang Binh Cave Festival 2017 will take place on June 16 to 25 along with a string of fascinating activities.
This information was officially announced at a press conference in Quang Binh on June 6. The event is held biennially with the aim of promoting the magnificent beauty and cultural identity of the 'kingdom of caves' to tourists.
Accordingly, a special arts programme entitled “The Kingdom of the Caves: Great and Legendary” with the participation of many famous artists will be organised at the opening ceremony in the evening of June 17 at Bao Ninh square in Dong Hoi city.
Quang Binh province will also launch new tours and accommodation services between June 18 to 25 including a tour exploring the nature of Yen Phu Lake, Hoa Son and Ruc Mon cave. In addition, the tour exploring the culture of the Arem and Ma Coong ethnic minority groups, and others.
A 50km triathlon (cycling-jogging-swimming) with the participation of 50 athletics in combination with charitable activities are expected to bring interesting experiences to tourists.
Various activities will take place in Dong Hoi city during the festival including parades, a sailing competition, kayaking and other water sports along the beach and the Nhat Le River.
In addition, the cultural and tourism exchange between Quang Binh province and Hai Phong city will provide an opportunity for visitors to enjoy water puppetry and performances of Le Thuy folk songs – the national intangible cultural heritage.
Street art programmes will also take place in several locations in Dong Hoi with the participation of domestic and international street art groups.
According to Director of the Quang Binh Tourism Department Ho An Phong, Quang Binh will launch a special tourism stimulus programme on this ocassion with a discount from 10 to 20% to all tourism services for visitors to Quang Binh during the festival from June 16 to 25.
