Celebrating 85th founding anniversary of HCM Communist Youth Union

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (HCYUCC) held a ceremony in Hanoi on March 25 to mark the 85th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26) and present the Ly Tu Trong Award 2016.

Attending the event were Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Member of  Secretariat Committee Dinh The Huynh; President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan; and Hanoi Party Secretary Hoang Trung Hai.

Speaking at the ceremony, HCYUCC First Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh said that the union's activities and movements have significantly contributed to the national great and historical achievements in the past 30 years of innovation.
During the ceremony, First Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh and Secretary Nguyen Manh Dung were awarded the Labour Medal, the third class. for their outstanding achievements in the 2011 - 2015 period.

He stressed that the union must closely collaborate with all industries to mobilize the entire society to care better for the material life, spirit of union members, youths, teens and children.
On the occasion, 85 outstanding youths were honoured with the Ly Tu Trong Award by the HCYUCC for their positive contributions to national defence, construction and development.
Since its inception 11 years ago, the award honoured 886 union officials and members at different levels who have made noted achievements in all fields.
Among this year’s awardees, there will be eight ethnic minority people.
Earlier, at the meeting with 85 outstanding youths who would be honoured with the Ly Tu Trong Award, President Truong Tan Sang said young people should equip themselves with more ideals in order to make greater contributions to the country.
President Truong Tan Sang urged them to carry forward their talent and enthusiasm in studying, as well as in youth-union-related activities.
